RE: KITCHEN AID

Used one for many years, before giving to to my kids. Small throat capacity limits size and quantity of stuff to be ground, and it is (in my opinion) a genuine POA to clean.

RE: Outside "shower"

I just usually open all valves, hang the hose down, let drain for a couple of hours, and buckle it all up. Of course, the cold is not as bone-chilling down here as there, but we have had our share of freezing weather in the last few years.

RE: U.S. Navy Electricity & Electronics Training Series-NEETS

Don't forget the Army Security Agency EW school that used to be at USASATC&S Ft Devens. All (not just the Navy) services have good to excellent electronics schools. I graduated the basic EW school in 1966 and the advanced EW school in 1968 as a 98J30. Each course was about 22 weeks long.

RE: Can't get rid of yahoo.com as a home page

Not to hijack the thread, but I have found that once anything Yahoo related (like Norton) is installed, it is next to impossible to get rid of all it's little appendages burrowed into your system. Good stuff to stay away from. JMO

RE: Boondocking / inexpensive place in Austin, TX?

Check with the various parks you may visit around Austin, especially McKinny Park for availability, as many sites are still taken by Hurricane Ike evacuees.

RE: Michelin XPS question.

I had the XPS tires on my Suburban when I was towing trailers, then had XPS tires put on my Winnebago in 2005. Over 15,000 combined miles and not a problem.

Holy cow!!, Peter Lenz should be nicknamed "no fear". He lays his bike down lower in the corners than some pro's I've seen. The kid is going to be something to be seen when he starts in the bigs!!

RE: Yikes! Did I just eat Kentucky Wild Boar bacon?!!!!

Down here in central Texas, the wild boar problem is so bad, that some of the ranchers are shooting all they can and home processing them into sausage, chops, and bacon. Can't be sold obviously, but if you are lucky enough to know a rancher, he might be persuaded to give you a few pounds. Good Stuff!!!
Oh yeah! half boar sausage and half ground venison, stuffed and smoked, is to die for

RE: Displaying the United States Flag Properly

Just because there are no enforcable laws against doing various things to the US Flag doesn't make doing them ethical or moral.

RE: SKILLET BREAKFAST FOR ONE

And add a good amount of Pace Salsa. We always use shredded Colby/Jack as the cheese topping. I guess we in Copperas Cove and still teach Killeen a few tricks, LOL
Oh, and by the way, this mixture is also a great filling wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.

RE: Flip Video Camera

I'm of the opposite mind on the Flip camera. Got a free one with my latest computer purchase, and couldn't wait to try it out. If all you want to do is uplaod to UTube, go for it. If you want to enlarge images past the almost thumbnail size, forget it, really bad and grainy. Also, don't even think about using the digital zoom, makes for a really nasty picture. All in all, I'm getting a much better camera to document the grandkids and such.

We will always have idiots among us that do not believe anything any government agency says, and will defend to the death (hopefully theirs) their ability to disobey.

RE: Any Old Computer uses on line?

I still have most of my old books back when I started to study electronics. One of them is called "Digital Computer Principles" published by the Burroughs Corporation, dated 1962. Most of the basic concepts in the book are still valid today.

RE: New restrictions on importing RVs?

Basically, the reason for the restrictions can be seen in south Texas every day, especially from Corpus Christi to Brownville on US 77. A lot of vehicles(old and packed with stuff to the gills) pulling another old vehicle, also packed to the gills, heading to Mexico to be sold down there. There are some folks around that make a rather good living buying what we would consider junk, and selling the stuff in Mexico. Some of the towing combinations I have seen have given me nightmares.
